Slow Mo Katana Sword – 4K – The Slow Mo Guys

Has Dan ever used a Katana in his life? No. Has he ever been trained the way of the Samurai? No. Will it stop him from making a slow mo Katana video? Hell no.
Many plastic bottles were harmed in the making of this video. But hey, they are terrible for the environment!

Can You Break Glass with Your Voice?

It's an old cliche: an opera singer hits a not so high, it breaks a wine glass. It may seem over the top, but with a little science (and an amp), you too can break a glass like the finest soprano!

What’s Behind YouTube’s Struggle to Place Ads On Music Videos?

Drunken Logic – Indie Brew – Featured Artist

If you haven’t heard of Drunken Logic you are missing out. Period.

Here is generally where I go into what type of genre you can fit a band into, or what type of music that they play; listing multiple genres if they are some sort of blend. To be perfectly honest though, if I were to try to list every genre of music that Drunken Logic fits into; or every type of music you hear in one amazing fusion; I would be writing for days. While bullet point lists are amazing for some things; I’m just not that into them. Don’t worry you’ll get a bullet point of band members, and maybe one with links. I’m not a total sadist.

Drunken Logic is the Indie Brew featured artist because they are fun to listen to. You will want to get up and dance, there is no question about that. Oh, and you’re welcome for your new favorite band.

Drunken Logic is comprised of

  • Jake Cassman – keys, lead vocals
  • Austin Wells – electric guitar, vocals
  • Ryan Jordan – acoustic/electric guitar, keys, mandolin, vocals
  • Alex Trevino – bass guitar, vocals
  • Alex McGillivray – drums, vocals

Be sure to check out Drunken Logic at all of the following links, and listen to their song ‘(The Good News Is) Nobody Gives A Damn’ which is my personal favorite. Unfortunately I do not have a video of that handy, so you’ll have to make due with soundcloud to give that one a listen.

6 Train Soldier- Featured Artist

6 Train Soldier is a Rock/R&B/Funk band out of Bristol, CT.  Relatively new to the scene, 6 Train Soldier will quickly catch your attention with funky bass lines, near Hendrix like guitar, smooth vocals, and a sound quality one would expect from a band that has been playing together for many more years.

6TrainSoldier

Original beats will have you up and moving the entire time you are listening; and if this first demo release is signs of what is to come in the future, we should expect great things from them.  This band is nothing if not authentic.

6 Train Soldier is comprised of:

  • Reno Bonhomme- Vocals
  • Craig Polivka- Guitar
  • Chuck Peterson- Drums
  • Jedd Chlebowski- Bass

The Band On Letterman 1993 – Jambase

Cool blast from the past featuring Levon and The Band. Check out the article for links to a couple other Band videos as well, including a Grateful Dead cover, Tennessee Jed.

From the JamBase article:

Levon Helm‘s ruff-and-gruff voice and impressive mandolin work are at the heart of The Band‘s version of “Atlantic City.” Check out the “Atlantic City” The Band laid down during a visit to The Late Show:

Allred- Featured Artist

Allred is not new to the Indie scene, John Allred has been performing under the name since 2004. If you haven’t heard them yet, you’ve been missing out.  John Allred has 7 full length albums under his belt, and has sold over 100,000 records independently worldwide.

After pushing play, I was immediately transported back to the early 90’s; and for good reason. Allred has a sound reminiscent of the 90’s Alternative Rock band the Gin Blossoms, so if you like that type of music, they will easily have you jamming along. Allred consists of:

  •  John Allred
  • Tanner Stevenett
  • Trent Davis
  • Sheyn Love
