If you haven’t heard of Drunken Logic you are missing out. Period.
Here is generally where I go into what type of genre you can fit a band into, or what type of music that they play; listing multiple genres if they are some sort of blend. To be perfectly honest though, if I were to try to list every genre of music that Drunken Logic fits into; or every type of music you hear in one amazing fusion; I would be writing for days. While bullet point lists are amazing for some things; I’m just not that into them. Don’t worry you’ll get a bullet point of band members, and maybe one with links. I’m not a total sadist.
Drunken Logic is the Indie Brew featured artist because they are fun to listen to. You will want to get up and dance, there is no question about that. Oh, and you’re welcome for your new favorite band.
Drunken Logic is comprised of
- Jake Cassman – keys, lead vocals
- Austin Wells – electric guitar, vocals
- Ryan Jordan – acoustic/electric guitar, keys, mandolin, vocals
- Alex Trevino – bass guitar, vocals
- Alex McGillivray – drums, vocals
Be sure to check out Drunken Logic at all of the following links, and listen to their song ‘(The Good News Is) Nobody Gives A Damn’ which is my personal favorite. Unfortunately I do not have a video of that handy, so you’ll have to make due with soundcloud to give that one a listen.

This morning, radio host Howard Stern finally crossed Neil Young off his interview bucket list when the legendary rocker made his first-ever visit appearance on SiriusXM‘s The Howard Stern Show. Young sat for an extensive interview that hit upon dozens of topics.
The interview started with Howard asking Neil about how he started playing guitar and writing songs. Young then discussed how he doesn’t get too attached to any one band. The pair moved on to a chat about Neil’s family life and childhood. The conversation than hit upon the rocker’s songwriting process and Young’s time performing with Rick James. When Howard brought up Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, it was clear Neil still has issues with David Crosby and reiterated he would never perform with CSNY again. Other topics hit upon were Woodstock, Neil’s new book, the PONO Music Service, ISIS, environmental issues and Young’s relationship with Daryl Hannah. Howard was in fine form and was very reverential to his guest, who didn’t hold anything back.
If you were to genetically crossbreed John Mayer, the members of O.A.R., Dave Matthews Band, and the Allman Brothers Band; the bastard child that came from that crossbreeding would sound I expect, a lot like Remember September. That is to say really amazing. From the fun lyrics, funky guitar riffs, and sax licks, to the smooth vocals; you will undoubtedly find yourself going from one song to the next, wanting more and more of Remember September.
Remember September is an Indie/Rock/Jam Band out of Trumbull CT, they have been playing together for 8 years, and it shows. The music flows as if they are connected and playing as one with true synergy. The harmonies are beautifully done, and their sound is honed to perfection. If you haven’t been listening to their music, you have been missing out. Remember September blends Country, Rock, Jazz, and Blues in an original and completely infectious way.
Remember September is comprised of:
- Jay Schod– Lead Vocal- Acoustic Guitar
- Chris Schod– Electric Guitar- Vocals
- Eric Schod– Bass
- Gerard Awad– Drums
- Dave Savitsky– Saxophone- Vocals
You can find out more about Remember September on their band website. You can also head on over and ‘Like’ their Facebook Page, ‘Follow’ them on Twitter, ‘Subscribe’ to their YouTube Channel, or ‘Fan’ them on ReverbNation.
If you have an iDevice, you can also support Remember September by heading on over to the iTunes store and purchasing their albums.
Unfortunately, I could not find a video on Youtube of the song I wanted to place here to showcase their sheer talent that had adequate sound quality to keep with Indie Brew’s expectations and standards. Therefore, I encourage you to head over to ReverbNation and check out the song that made me notice these guys ‘Fly Me Back Home’.

Noah Guthrie is a 19 year old Singer Songwriter/Acoustic/Pop artist from Greer, South Carolina. He came into public attention for his cover of LMFAO’s ‘Sexy And I Know It’ when he was only 18. While that cover may have earned him 8 Million YouTube hits in one week and over 21 Million to date, a spot on NBC’s Today Show, The Tonight Show (Jay Leno’s), and airplay on several U.S. and European Radio Stations, I feel that Noah’s original work is worth looking at far closer than any cover he has done.
This is the point where I would normally tell you that Noah the featured artist I selected was ‘Reminiscent’ of this artist or that one, that the voice or the music took me back to when I listened to some musician on some radio back in the day. I tried to make that comparison; I tried to make that connection; but I couldn’t. After spending two hours staring at my screen, racking my brain for just one comparison, I realized something. There is just no comparison for Noah; his sound is everything and nothing. It reminds you of everyone; and no one. In short, Noah Guthrie is completely original; in both composition and vocals.
Noah has a smooth soulful voice that will simply make you melt. You will find yourself lost in the melody, holding on to every word . I’m even willing to bet that after listening to just one song; you will be looking into the rest of his music, be it covers or his amazing original work.

Kristen Graves is a Folk/Pop/Indie artist and activist hailing from Fairfield, Connecticut. Her lyrics are catchy, fun, and above all else contain a message.
With an angelic voice Kristen sings songs of hope, and love; but also songs calling for political change. She spends 3 months of the year volunteering with Simply Smiles, a Connecticut-based charity run by her husband, Bryan Nurnberger. Kristen is also the current State Troubadour of Connecticut which means that along with touring, and doing charity work; she also functions as an ambassador of music and song to encourage cultural literacy and promote the State of Connecticut.
“During my time as the State Troubadour, I want to take the opportunity to encourage artists of all ages to not only make great art, but take things a step further outside of themselves and use that art to inspire change. When we all do our part to use our talents and make the world a better place, beautiful things happen.”
In 2012, frustrated with the hatred spewing forth from all parties during the elections Kristen jokingly started her own ‘Political’ Party. The Just Be Nice party may have started out as a joke mentioned at gigs, but it quickly blossomed from there. People started asking about the Just Be Nice party, and how they could join. As a result, thejustbeniceparty.com was born; and you can go to the website to check out a list of various non-profit charities that take on a variety of social issues. Now that’s a party that I can back.

Jasmine Tate is an Alternative/Soul artist coming out of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, she is only 22 years old, yet she still manages to capture the true depth of Soul music like masters of the craft far more experienced.
Jasmine’s amazing vocals will leave you reminiscing about artists such as Tracy Chapman, Lauren Hill, and India Arie; she has roots in Gospel music and the influence can definitely be heard in her voice.
Jasmine’s lyrics are not just about life and love; but also justice, with a higher purpose of bringing attention to things such as human trafficking. She dreams that her music can serve to infuse each person with a sense of hope and a hunger for more in life.
“I want every song to feel like a one-on-one, heart-to-heart moment between the listener and I. That said… I really just want to touch those who are living without color.”
